Ayo Adewunmi (Ph.D.) initiated the Art is Everywhere (AIE) project, a waste-to-art recycling workshop in 2005. He has taught art and photography at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu since 1991. He studied art at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria, where he obtained a BA degree in Industrial Design, in 1991. He has MFA in Painting and Ph.D in Art History from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria.
He is currently the Art Director of Life in My City Art Festival (www.lifeinmycityartsfestival,org). Adewunmi has participated in numerous art exhibitions within and outside Nigeria.
Okechukwu Albert Eze
Eze won second prize in 2010 and Best waste-to-art (Art is Everywhere Prize) in 2011. At that time Eze had just graduated from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu and moved to Lagos. Presently he runs his own studio and gallery in Lagos. He is now an employer of labour, having created job for two people, a sales rep, and a studio assistant. Eze is also involved in buying and selling of art & craft . He participated in LIMCAF six consecutive times.
Eze was able to set up his own gallery business as a result of winning those LIMCAF prizes. He has participated in several exhibitions and workshop within and outside the country and had a solo exhibition at Alliance Franchise, Lagos in 2014. Inspired by LIMCAF's commitment to young artists, he opened a small art shop for someone in Lagos early this year.
Chike trained at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he obtained a BA and MFA degrees. He has won many art grants and awards and has participated in exhibitions, residencies, and workshops in Nigeria and abroad.
He is a co-founder and the creative director of FAbA (For Artists by Artists), a contemporary non-profit making organization that promotes young and up-coming talents in the tradition of contemporary art culture, and engages new audiences in the arts using visual communication and new technologies to promote community building and social change. He is also a coordinator with the Art-is-everywhere project.
Ikechukwu was born in Lagos mainland; Nigeria on the 27th may 1970. He graduated as a sculptor from the University of Port-Harcourt in 1995 and earned an M.F.A. in painting in 2001 from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. Under the tutelage of Prof. Chike Aniakor, his art experienced a deeper inclination towards conceptual and poetic depiction of topical issues. Ike is a veteran of many local and international artists’ workshops and residencies.
A proof of his versatility can be found in the eclectic manner of combining things and ideas around him to create form and his ability to extending beyond the visual art. He has written extensively on the issue of ‘Netizen’ which is his present studio focus. His recent poetry collection, ‘Petals and Thorns’ had just been published in Bloomington, United States of America. Ike currently teaches Mixed-media, Painting and Drawing in the University of Port Harcourt.
Adele was born 16th February, 1968. She holds a Ph.D in Industrial Design from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, where she has been teaching from 1992. Her works are greatly influenced by the interaction of art and science in our daily lives. And over the years she has participated in conferences, workshops and exhibitions nationally and internationally to share and gain new ideas and also to enhance her skill.
As a university teacher she has been engaged in researches one of which has been seeking ways of recycling waste glasses for profitable management of wastes especially as it bothers on environmental concern, with the hope that it would cause a progressive decline of glass waste in our environment. Results of some these works have been published among other research interest of hers. She has also played leadership roles in initiating and/or several groups, workshops and conferences in Nigeria and she also belongs to some professional organization.
Tony graduated with a BA degree in Industrial Design from Ahamadu Bello Universiy, Zaria, where he is currently a Master Student. Odeh lectures Textile Design at the Department of Industrial Design, Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu. He works with fabrics, dyes, gouache, poster colour, ink and paraffin.
Ayo was born in Kano State of Nigeria. He studied Fine Arts at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree and in 1996 with a Master's degree, specializing in Painting. Ayo Aina who is renowned for his installation art, is a full-time studio artist who leaves in Kaduna. He has participated in several exhibitions and workshops in Nigeria and abroad.
Ugochukwu-Smooth C. Nzewi
Nzewi is an artist, art historian, and curator. He is currently Curator of African Art at Dartmouth College's Hood Museum of Art. He studied under El Anatsui at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, traveled as an artist and curator, and completed his doctorate at Emory University in 2013. He has curated the Nigerian Afrika Heritage Biennial three times, the Dak'Art biennial in 2014, and independent exhibitions at Atlanta's High Museum of Art and New York's Richard Taittinger Gallery. Nzewi also exhibited internationally as an artist and artist-in-resident.
Okocha Eze, an interior deco and waste to craft expect who is practicing in Enugu where his studio is situated. Okocha is one of the Art Is Everywhere coordinators. He has inspired many with the finish quality of his works. He is the Managing Director of T-Creations, Enugu.
